February Events

February is here and Boston has many great things going on even in the face of the snow!

Here are some of our favorites that we think might interest you.


February 13th

What: 2014 Leopold Godowsky Jr. Color Photography awards

Where: Photographic Resource Center at 832 Commonwealth Ave. Boston MA.

More info: The Leopold Godowsky, Jr. Color Photography Awards honor Leopold Godowsky, Jr., the co-inventor of Kodachrome film. Established by the Godowsky family in 1987 and held every four years, the awards recognize "achieved excellence in color photography." For the 2014 awards, the PRC sought nominations from hundreds of photography experts around the world, including directors, gallery owners, curators, educators, and critics. Over one hundred and fifty artists submitted work for consideration by the jury.   www.bu.edu/prc



What: Newport Jazz Festival

What: Boston Game Demo Night

Where: Microsoft Corporation Building in Cambridge

February 14th

What: Bernstein’s West Side Story

Where: Boston Symphony

When: 8:00pm

More info: The UnderScore Friday Series offers a variation on the traditional BSO concert performance. What: Boston Wine Expo

Where: The Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center

When: 1:00pm – 5:00pm

More info: Your ticket grants you access to the main event on both Saturday and Sunday. You will receive a souvenir wine glass and be able to taste samples from over 300 wine producers. February 19th

What: Cedric Tiberghien Performance

Where: Pickman Hall

What: From the Ground Up – Circus Oz

February 20th

What: English Heraldry presented by the British Society of Boston

Where: The Chilton Club at 287 Dartmouth St. Boston, MA.

When: 6:00pm

What: Boston Women in Media Mentoring Initiative Cocktails

What: 5th Annual Boston Chili Cup

Where: Ned Devine’s Pub at 1 Faneuil Hall Market Place, Boston, MA.

February 21st


What: The Search for and Discover of the World War II German Submarine U550 presented by The New

England Chapter of the Explorers Club.

Where: The Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel at 400 Soldiers Field Rd. Boston, MA

When: 7:00pm

More info: The presentation will range from historical events leading up to the battle which resulted in the singing of the American tanker Pan Pennsylvania and the German sub, to the multi year search for and subsequent discovery of the submarine. This will include info on the exploration of the wreck site over the past two field seasons and the continuing research into the details of the battle. http://www.neexplorersclub.org.



February 27-28

What: TAO Dance Theater

Where: Citi Shubert Theater

When: Daily
